Manage default attributes

Default attributes are a special class of attribute for an asset. These attributes define a collection of predefined values a tag attribute may take. On an asset, for example, there may be a finite, set, collection of values for Fluid Codes, or Line Sizes. The set of allowed values will differ between asset and between customers.

Default attributes may be managed either via the context menu for an asset, or if a project has been selected, from the homepage.

The attribute will be given the Default tag type and should have a unique name.

If tag types, source of records or milestones have already been set up, then attributes can be added to them upon creation. Simply use the various dropdowns on the form to configure the new attribute. Note: when added to tag types or source of records, they will not be set as required attributes, or considered part of the Tag ID format – this should be done when managing the tag types and source of records.

Archiving a default attribute

The upload can be used to upload multiple attributes and multiple Code-Value pairs. When uploaded, if there are any already existing attributes in the file, then any new Code-Value pairs will be added.
