Overview
The Equipment module provides a comprehensive set of functionalities for managing equipment within the system. Users can perform various actions such as viewing, creating, uploading, editing, duplicating, exporting, linking documents, linking to tags, archiving, and restoring equipment. Additionally, users can manage location history and manage archived equipment efficiently.
Viewing Equipment
To view equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to view, click on the ID of the equipment in the table or go to the context menu and click View.
- You can now view the Equipment attributes or view any Linked documents.
Creating Equipment
To create equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- From the table context menu, click Create.
- Complete the required fields marked with *.
Uploading Equipment
To upload equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- From the table context menu, click Get equipment upload template.
- Populate the below fields:
- Discipline
- Tag type
- You can download a template using the link.
- From the table context menu, click Upload equipment.
- Use the upload a file to navigate to your csv file and upload.
- This process will create a task in the uploads section where you can monitor the progress of your upload. Please read the uploads article https://help.asset55.io/en_GB/operate/uploads for a more detailed description of how this works.
Editing Equipment
To edit equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to edit, go to the context menu, and click Edit.
- You can now edit and save the equipment.
Duplicate Equipment
To duplicate equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to duplicate, go to the context menu, and click Duplicate equipment.
- Update the ID field and save.
Export Equipment
To export equipment to a csv file:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Go to the context menu and click Add click Export.
- Select a filename and location.
- You will now have a csv file with all the equipment output to the location you selected.
Upload Equipment Documents
To upload a document to equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to link a document, go to the context menu, and click Upload document.
- Upload a document using the Upload a file option and select a document from your local machine and save.
Link Equipment to a Tag
To link equipment to a tag. Only Tags and Equipment with the same discipline and tag type can be linked together:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to add a tag to, go to the context menu and click Link to a tag.
- Start to type the tag id into the Tag ID field and click save.
Upload Equipment Tags
To upload equipment tag links:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Go to the context menu and click Add click Upload tag Links.
- Update the Tag ID and Equipment ID as a minimum.
- Use the upload a file to navigate to your csv file and upload.
Location History
To view the location history of equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to view the location history, go to the context menu, and click Location history.
Archiving Equipment
To archive equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- Find the equipment you want to archive, go to the context menu, and click Archive.
View Archived Equipment
To view archived equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- From the table context menu, click View archived.
Restore Equipment
To restore a previously archived equipment:
- From the Home Screen, go to Equipment.
- From the table context menu, click View archived.
- Find the equipment you want to restore, go to the context menu, and click Unarchive.
Hide Archived Equipment
To hide archived equipment:
- When viewing archived equipment.
- From the table context menu, click Hide archived.
