Overview

Operate is a very flexible tool and can be tailored to suite most ways of working, however, there are some coventions in the software which cannot be changed, namely the real-world structure of Tenant > Asset > Project.

What is a Tenant?

During the onboarding process, the asset55 team will create a new Tenant in Operate for you. This is the base container for all of your data relating to your assets and projets within Operate.

In most circumstances you will only see a single Tenant in operate, however, there can be circumstances which mean you can change between Tenant accounts and access another Tenants data if you have been invited to collaborate on anther project.

What is an Asset?

An Asset in Operate, defines the resource, property or facility which is the basis for execution of work within Operate.

Assets are the container of all data relating to that asset and many projects can be created against that asset. Assets have attributes and configuration settings which drive many of the behaviours of projects in the system. For more information, please see Asset Management.

What is a Project?

A Projects relates to the scopes of work executed against an Asset. Operate supports multiple project stages, different work types and discipline workflows. Projects have attributes and configuration settings which drive specific project behavious. For more information, please see Projects.

Navigation

It is easy to quickly change context and move between Tenants, Assets and Projects within Operate.

It is important to note that you can select the context of a Tenant, Asset or Project. If you are selected a Project, you must select a Tenant and Asset first.

When you sign-in for the first time, or press the Set Context icon on any page you can quickly switch between context.
