Overview

Efficient management of tools is crucial for ensuring their availability, reliability, and compliance. Here is an overview of how to manage various tasks related to tools.

Viewing a Tool

To view a tool:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. Find the tool you want to view, click on the name of the tool in the table or go to the context menu and click View.

Creating a New Tool

To create a new tool:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. From the table context menu, click Create.
3. Complete the required fields marked with *.

Uploading Tools

To upload tools:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. From the table context menu, click Upload.
3. You can download a template using the link.
4. Populate the below fields in the csv file as a minimum:
   
   • Make
   • Range
   • Model
   • Serial number
5. Use the upload a file to navigate to your csv file and upload.
6. This process will create a task in the uploads section where you can monitor the progress of your upload. Please read the uploads article https://help.asset55.io/en_GB/operate/uploads for a more detailed description of how this works.

Editing a Tool

To edit a tool:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. Find the tool you want to edit, go to the context menu, and click Edit.

Viewing a Tools History

To view a tools history:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. Find the tool you want to view the history, go to the context menu, and click View tool history.

Uploading Calibration Certificates

To upload a calibration certificates:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. Find the tool you want to add a calibration certificate, go to the context menu, and click Upload certificate.
3. Use the upload a file to navigate to your certificate and upload.

Replacing Calibration Certificates

To replace a calibration certificates:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. Find the tool you want to replace a calibration certificate, go to the context menu, and click Replace certificate.
3. Use the upload a file to navigate to your certificate and upload.

Viewing Expired Calibration Certificates

To view expired certificates:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. From the table context menu, click Tool expirations.

Export Tools

To export all the tools into a csv file:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. From the table context menu, click Export.
3. Select a filename and location.
4. You will now have a csv file with all the tools output to the location you selected.

Archiving a Tool

To archive a tool:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. Find the tool you want to archive, go to the context menu, and click Archive.

View Archived Tools

To view archived tools:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. From the table context menu, click View archived.

Restore an Archived Tool

To restore a previously archived tool:

1. From the Home Screen, go to the cog icon and click Manage tools.
2. From the table context menu, click View archived.
3. Find the tool you want to restore, go to the context menu, and click Unarchive.

Hide Archived Tools

To hide archived tools:

1. When viewing archived tools.
2. From the table context menu, click Hide archived.

Project Tools

You can add or remove Tools that have been created from the project tools module. You can also manage certificates for tools and view and edit tools.

View Project Tools

To view the current tools on the project.

1. From the Home Screen, go to Tools.
2. Find the tool you want to view, click on the name of the tool in the table or go to the context menu and click View.

Edit Project Tools

To edit a tool on the project.

1. From the Home Screen, go to Tools.
2. Find the tool you want to edit, go to the context menu, and click Edit.

Add Tools to a Project

To add tools to a project.

1. From the Home Screen, go to tools.
2. From the table context menu, click Add to project.
3. Start typing a make or serial number and click on the tool you want to add to the project and click save.
4. Or you can create new Tools by clicking the new tool option and then populate the required fields for the tool and save firstly to create the tool then save again to add to the project.

Remove Tools from a Project

To remove tools from a project.

1. From the Home Screen, go to Tools.
2. From the table view select the tools you want to remove by selecting the tick option.
3. From the table context menu, click Remove From project.

Uploading Calibration Certificates from Project Tools

To upload a calibration certificate from project tools:

1. From the Home Screen, go to Tools.
2. Find the tool you want to add a calibration certificate, go to the context menu, and click Upload certificate.
3. Use the upload a file to navigate to your certificate and upload.

Replacing Calibration Certificates from Project Tools

To replace a calibration certificate from project tools:

1. From the Home Screen, go to Tools.
2. Find the tool you want to replace a calibration certificate, go to the context menu, and click Replace certificate.
3. Use the upload a file to navigate to your certificate and upload.

Viewing a Tools History from Project Tools

To view a tools history from project tools:

1. From the Home Screen, go to Tools.
2. Find the tool you want to view the history, go to the context menu, and click View tool history.
