Prerequisites
An asset has been created https://help.asset55.io/en_GB/asset-attributes/asset-management
Milestones are a feature of an asset - where a user may define time-bound periods of data requirements. A milestone will have a date - associated with it. It is up to the user if this date is then to be used to denote the start or end date for the milestone.
The purpose of defining milestones is to define requirements for data maturity on an asset. Users may define a collection of milestones for an asset and then associate each of the asset's attributes to a milestone. Defining this relationship allows analysis of tag data against these milestones to determine which attributes are expected to be populated at different times of data gathering.
- To view the milestones for an asset, click on the “Manage milestones” menu item for the asset.

- This will take you to the milestones page.

Creating a milestone
- To create a new milestone, click the “Create” menu option at the top of the page.

- This will open the “Create new milestone” form. The milestone must have a unique name and a date for the milestone. It may optionally be given a description too.

- When creating a new milestone, you may also allocate attributes to the milestone. A dropdown is shown - with all non-allocated attributes listed first. We present attributes allocated to other milestones, but they can only be assigned to a single milestone.

- Click ‘Save’ to create the milestone.
Viewing all milestones
- To view all milestones and the attributes in a single view, click the “View all milestone attributes” menu option at the top of the page.

- A readonly sheet is opened which shows all defined milestones and the attributes allocated to each milestone.

Archiving a milestone
- Milestones may be archived by clicking the “Archive” menu option. This will open a form to confirm the action.
