When a tag is uploaded and it's tag ID yields an error, Validate may propose a possible tag ID based upon the attributes of the tag, and the defined tag ID pattern for the tag's tag type.

There are two instances where a tag ID is proposed for a validated tag. 

1. Where a tag's ID meets the specification but has incorrect attribution (i.e. the tag ID parts do not match the corresponding attributes of the tag). 
2. Where a tag's ID does not meet the tag ID specification, we attempt to construct a tag ID given the tag's other attributes. 

Viewing Proposed Tag IDs

To view all proposed tag IDs for a project, click on the 'View proposed tag IDs' menu option on the tags page.

This will take you to a table with all proposed tag IDs. The table indicates if there any tags in the system that already have the proposed tag ID, and which other tags have been given the proposed tag ID during the tag validation process.

When on this table, you have three options: 

1. view all tags with the proposed Tag ID
2. download a complete consolidated tag
3. download a custom tag

View all tags with proposed tag ID

When on the proposed tag ID table, click on the menu for an ID and select "View matching tags".

This will open a sheet with a collection of tags and their attributes. The tags shown will be all tags that have the tag ID proposed for them in the validation process and, where applicable, a tag which has the tag ID in question.

Download a complete consolidated tag

To download a tag, made up of all tags which has had the tag ID proposed for them, and also a tag which already has that ID (if one exists), select the 'Export full consolidated tag' menu option for a tag ID.

This will open a modal dialogue which asks the user to confirm the tag should be downloaded. This will export a CSV file with a single row - for the target tag. Where there are a collection of different values provided for any given attribute, they will be separated by a semi-colon.

Export custom proposed tag

To download a consolidated tag, which you can customise, click the 'Export custom proposed tag' menu option.

A sheet opens which has a drop down containing all the tags which have had the tag ID proposed during validation. You can select one or more of these to download. If there is already a tag with the tag ID in the system, its attributes will be included automatically. Where there are a collection of different values provided for any given attribute, they will be separated by a semi-colon.
