Tag errors

As well as viewing errors for individual tags, you can view all errors across the full project. These errors are raised by Validate when uploading tags. 

View tag errors

To view all tag errors, click on the “View tag errors” menu item from the tags feature.

This will take you to the Tag errors page. The page shows all active errors logged for the project – that means all errors that have yet to be cleared. The page will show the tags, attributes and error types for the various errors on the project. If uploads have used source of record documents, then they too will be shown on the table.

View tags with ID errors

There may be instances where tags are uploaded which have errors with their tag uploads. This typically occurs early in the upload process, where tags have not been well defined. In this case, you may with to archive one or more tags with this error type, so not to pollute the project tag data.

From the tags feature, click on the “View tags with ID error” context menu item at the top of the page.

This will take you to a table with all tags with an erroneous tag ID. The table shows the source of record and when the tag was last uploaded. Using table filters and selections, you can archive a group of tags that should not stay in the system.

Export all tag errors

To export all tag errors from a project in Validate, navigate to the tag errors page, and click the “Export tag errors” menu item at the top of the page.

A dialogue box will appear asking for an optional name for the export. Click “Export” to begin the export process – you will be notified when the exported file is complete. The file will be a CSV file containing the same data from this table.

Export filtered tag errors

If you don’t want to export all errors, and want to filter errors before exporting, then you can use the table filters to reduce the errors to those with importance. You can filter by attribute, error type, source of record, or document name.

Once the table has been filtered, click the “Export filtered tag errors” menu item on the top of the page.

Ignore/restore errors

You may wish to ignore errors which you are not concerned with. Doing so is simple. You can either ignore individual errors, or a ignore a larger collection using the table selection.

Ignore single error

To ignore a single tag error, simply click the “Ignore” menu item for the error in question.

A form will ask you to confirm your choice to ignore the error, click “Ignore” to confirm.

When the error has been ignored, it will remain on the error page, but will have a different colour and icon to denote it has been ignored.

Ignore multiple errors

Alternativly, you can select several errors using the table “tick” selectors, or the select all function on the table header.

Once selected, click the “Ignore selected” menu item at the top of the page.
